Liquor stock

Set up bottles once, then count what is physically on hand at the end of the day. Blocks records any difference in stock history.

Set up a bottle item

First add the item in Catalog and count it as bottles in Inventory. Use a separate item or size for stock used in a bar and stock sold in a shop.

Set up a measured peg

Create a separate sale item for the peg in Catalog. Select the bottle it comes from and enter how many ml you pour. A sold peg then uses that fraction of a bottle automatically.

What should I buy?

An estimate from recent bottle sales and stock on hand. Set how long delivery takes and how many days of extra stock you want. Review the suggestion before placing a purchase with your supplier.

Suggestion = recent daily sales × (delivery days + extra cover days), or your minimum if higher, less available stock. Rounded up to whole supplier packs. Continue to Purchases to confirm supplier, invoice cost and quantity before saving a draft; this suggestion does not change stock.

Supplier offers

Track bottle targets agreed with a company. Only deliveries confirmed in stock count. Record a cash or supplier credit benefit after it appears on a statement or credit note.

Close liquor stock

Count all bottles you can see, including an open bottle as a fraction such as 0.5. “Expected in records” is the stock Blocks currently has on file. Difference = counted now minus expected: a negative number means stock is short; a positive number means extra stock. Saving updates stock to match your count and keeps a history entry.

Record broken or wasted bottles

Use this when stock was lost outside a sale. The change is saved in Inventory history with your account; old entries cannot be changed.

A saved close remains here with its original count and any stock update that needs attention.
